The 17th annual T.T.T. Tour of Homes and Holiday Market are fast approaching.
The tour is set for Sunday, Nov. 22, from 1 to 5 p.m.
The homes on this year?s docket are that of Gary and Deb Rodgers, 303 South Cherry Street; Robin and Jill Daniels, 515 West Race Street; Mike and Nancy Vens, 2926 Old Highway 218; and Tom and Kathy Holtkamp, 508 East Walnut Ridge.
The Rodgers? home was built in 1961 and one of the first to be built in Sheaffer Division. They are the fourth owners of the home, which features original hardwood oak floors. The Rodgers will be available to visit with event-goers. Their home will be decorated for fall.
The Daniels, who often host RAGBRAI cycling teams, are excited to share their guests ?home away from home? with even more guests.
The Daniels have spent half of their married life in the military, so they are use to sharing spaces and often having to find a home away from home for themselves. Jill said she credits the couples? time renting an apartment in a Korean home for nurturing their appreciation of sharing spaces. The Daniel?s home will be showcasing their Christmas display for the tour.
The Vans are also excited to share their home with tour guests. During the tour, Mike will be found downstairs in the wine cellar, which was converted to its current state in 2012. It has a capacity of 200 bottles of wine and currently holds about 160. The home was built in 1999 and sits on eight and a half acres of land. The Vans? home will be decorated for Christmas.
The Holtkamp home sits on the edge of Mt. Pleasant. Kathy describes the home as spacious and filled with lots of natural light. The couple enjoys their outdoor areas, which includes a deck, patio and fire pit, as well as a pond, all with views of the wooded area surrounding the home. The Holkamp?s home will be decorated for Christmas and will showcase a large Christmas tree in the lofted living room.
Also on the tour will be the Holiday Market, held at the Airport Road Vineyard and Winery. According to a press relase, the market will have a wide variety of items for sale including herbals and infused oils, beads, jewelry, handmade signs, scarves, baked goods, skin products, floral and Christmas décor.
Tickets for the tour can be picked up at Jerry?s Restaurant, Brown?s Shoe Fit or from any Chapter DD, TTT member. Tickets will also be available on the day of the event at each home and at the Holiday Market.
