Area non-profits receive $8,000 in Alliant grants

Local Southeast Iowa nonprofit organizations received $8,000 in community grants from Alliant Energy's Foundation.
In Mt. Pleasant, the Christamore Family Treatment Center received $2,000, and the Domestic Violence Intervention Program received $2,500 for its program supporting victims and survivors of domestic violence. The Iowa Valley Habitat for Humanity in Washington received $2,500, and the City of Fairfield Fire Deparment received $1,000.
In total, Alliant Energy's Foundation provided over $895,000 to 376 organizations through its Community Grants Program.
'The services and programs our nonprofit partners provide are needed now more than ever,” Julie Bauer, executive director of the Alliant Energy Foundation, said. 'We are proud to support these organizations through our grants program. The entire community benefits when we work together and find creative opportunities that help make life better for others.”
