Arlowine Louise Brinck, 94, of the Kensington in Ft. Madison, formerly of West Point, died Monday, Jan. 19, 2015, at the Fort Madison Community Hospital.
The memorial mass for Brinck will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015, at St. Mary the Assumption Catholic Church in West Point with Rev. Dennis Hoffman as celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in West Point. Friends may call after 1 p.m. ...

Arlowine Louise Brinck, 94, of the Kensington in Ft. Madison, formerly of West Point, died Monday, Jan. 19, 2015, at the Fort Madison Community Hospital.
The memorial mass for Brinck will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015, at St. Mary the Assumption Catholic Church in West Point with Rev. Dennis Hoffman as celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in West Point. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in West Point. A parish rosary will be recited on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. There will be a wake service at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening. The family will meet with friends from 6 to 7 p.m. A memorial has been established in her memory to Holy Trinity Catholic Schools. Brinck was born July 1, 1920, in Canora Saskatchewan, Canada, the daughter of Arthur William and Mary Eva Gladys (McKenty) Arie. On Feb. 5, 1944, she married Adrian Bernard Brinck at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ft. Madison. He preceded her in death.
Brinck was a graduate of Ft. Madison Catholic High School and attended AIC Business School in Davenport. She helped with The Family Service Department in San Diego during WWII and later worked as a secretary, stenographer and in advertising at Sheaffer Pen in Ft. Madison. Brinck was a member of the St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in West Point. She enjoyed reading, car rides, traveling and family.
Brinck is survived by four sons, Michael (Marla) Brinck, of Annapolis, Md.; Steve (Laura) Brinck, of West Point; John Brinck, of West Point; and Jim (Rhonda) Brinck, of Ft. Madison; three daughters, Mary Jo (Joe) Metzler, of Alexandria, Va.; Sally (Jim) Kloewer, of Keosauqua; and Barbara (Robert) Shafer, of Dubuque; fifteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Adrian; four brothers; and one step-grandchild.
