KEOSAUQUA ? Several candidates have filed nomination papers with the Van Buren County Auditor to run in the June 5 primary election.
Incumbent Jon P. Finney of rural Keosauqua is a Republican candidate for county auditor.
Incumbent Dan Tedrow of rural Milton is a Republican candidate for Van Buren County sheriff.
Incumbent Marvin S. Philips of rural Douds is a Republican candidate for county supervisor.
Van Buren County offices up for election in 2012 are county auditor, sheriff and one member of the board of supervisors.
Anyone who would like to run as Republican or Democrat must first be nominated either at the June 5 Primary Election or by convention of the party if no nominees are nominated at the June 5 election.
Nomination papers for local county candidates must be filed in the office of the county auditor no later than March 28. Republican candidates need a minimum of 33 signatures on their nomination papers. Democrat candidates need a minimum of 22 signatures.
