Automatic mailing of Iowa Income Tax booklets eliminated
With the continued growth of electronic filing, the Iowa Department of Revenue will no longer automatically mail paper income tax forms and instruction booklets to individual taxpayers beginning with tax year 2011.
The change is part of IDR?s focus on creating efficiencies through the increased use of technology. The Internal Revenue Service and many other states have already taken this step.

Taxpayers are encouraged to file their returns electronically.

? Forms and instructions are available online at www.iowa.gov/tax. The online form is fillable.
? Call the forms order line at 800-532-1531.
? Request a form by email at IowaTaxForms@Iowa.gov.
? Request a form by mail from Iowa Department of Revenue; P.O. Box 10460; Des Moines 50306-0460.
? Pick up a booklet at the IDR office on the fourth floor of the Hoover State Office Building in Des Moines.
Filing returns electronically remains the best option for processing returns more quickly and accurately.
