The Jefferson County Health Center Auxiliary celebrated 50 years of service to the hospital and its patients during a luncheon Friday afternoon.
Around 150 people attended the event, including Mary Sporleder, a board member from the Iowa Hospital Association. The auxiliary?s charter members, past presidents, lifetime members, executive board, committee heads and anniversary committee were recognized during the celebration.
?How do you thank an organization for 50 years of service?? said the hospital?s CEO Deb Cardin. ?I am astounded by the support and generosity the auxiliary has provided the hospital throughout the years.?
Cardin was one of several speakers at the celebration who reflected on the impact the auxiliary has made during the last 50 years.
Cardin later said, ?We have received over $1 million in contributions and countless hours of service by dedicated, committed volunteers. I thank everyone in this industrious organization who has given of their time and talent to benefit JCHC, our patients and our staff.?
