WASHINGTON — Traffic was diverted from a block of B Avenue as contractors and city crews hooked up water systems to the Marion Avenue Baptist Church’s new building, which is still under construction.
Washington Construction and Maintenance Superintendent JJ Bell said the building needed the installations like any other.
“They’re putting up a new building, and they need to have a bathroom in there, and they need water access as well,” Bell said. “The storm sewer I assume is for the runoff from the gutters so it doesn’t run off into the street.”
Bell said the construction should conclude by the week’s end, if not sooner.
