Jefferson County Health Center Auxiliary is offering a free babysitting course on Saturday, April 17 and April 24 at the Fairfield First United Methodist Church, 201 North Court.
The class is open to all fifth- and sixth-grade boys and girls in Jefferson County.

- April 17: noon-5 p.m.
- April 24: 8 a.m.-noon.
- April 24: Noon-5 p.m.
Enrollment will be limited to 60 students with 15 students per session. Participates will be given a multiple-choice test at the end of the course and receive a certificate and tote bag.
Students are asked to bring a face mask and their own drink.
The Health Care Center Auxiliary offers the course once a year.
Christine Engwall, health and wellness coordinator, of JCHC will teach the group first aid and infant and child development skills. The Fairfield Fire Department will share fire safety tips.
Names of students will not be shared for baby-itting referrals.
Registration forms will be sent home from the schools. To register send an email to supersitter@yahoo.com with the name of the student, phone number and the time of their first, second and third choice of the session they would like to attend by Friday, April 9.
Registration is on a first-come first-serve basis. Students are required to bring the registration form to the class, it must be signed by a parent or guardian and contain an emergency contact number.
