Bazooka Farmstar announces 28,000-square-foot expansion

WASHINGTON - Bazooka Farmstar has penned a letter of intent to expand its business 28,000 square feet.

The Washington City Council approved the letter at its meeting Tuesday night. The farm equipment supplier is located at 800 E. Seventh St. in Washington.

A sewer project is currently underway on the north side of town and must be completed before the expansion can begin. The expansion will bump up against, or possibly overlap, with the new sewer lines, which is why the company wrote the letter.

City Administrator Brent Hinson said he felt good about the project and the potential tax dollars that will be generated from the expansion will pay for any additional sewer costs occurred. Because Bazooka owns the entire block its current facility is on, this creates potential for spinoff facilities, he said.
