Bear spotted in northeast Iowa
FREDERIKA (AP) ? The Bremer County Sheriff?s Office says it?s received several reports about a black bear wandering through the area in northeast Iowa.
Jade Bergmann told the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier she spotted a bear along Iowa Highway 188, a few miles from U.S. Highway 63 near Frederika.
The Chickasaw County Sheriff?s Office says a black bear was spotted May 21 near Fredericksburg. Also, a bear showed up ...

FREDERIKA (AP) ? The Bremer County Sheriff?s Office says it?s received several reports about a black bear wandering through the area in northeast Iowa.
Jade Bergmann told the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier she spotted a bear along Iowa Highway 188, a few miles from U.S. Highway 63 near Frederika.
The Chickasaw County Sheriff?s Office says a black bear was spotted May 21 near Fredericksburg. Also, a bear showed up May 18 just north of West Union.
Vince Evelsizer is a biologist with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources? Clear Lake office. He says a bear has been seen in the area over the past three to four weeks. He says he?s guessing it?s the same one.
Evelsizer says it?s not unusual to get up to three reports of bear sightings each spring.
