Bees sting Tigers again
The Iowa Wesleyan College women?s basketball team was faced with a tough opponent in St. Ambrose University on Wednesday night.
The Bees visited Ruble Arena for the teams? second matchup of the season. In their first game earlier this season, the Tigers battled hard and fell by just four points, 59-55.
In the second match up, however, the Bees defeated the Tigers by a score of 68-45.

The Iowa Wesleyan College women?s basketball team was faced with a tough opponent in St. Ambrose University on Wednesday night.
The Bees visited Ruble Arena for the teams? second matchup of the season. In their first game earlier this season, the Tigers battled hard and fell by just four points, 59-55.
In the second match up, however, the Bees defeated the Tigers by a score of 68-45.
The Tigers kept it close early, trailing by just three with 3:36 remaining in the first 20 minutes. The teams were tied at 11 and again at 14, and IWC held as much as a three-point lead early in the game, when Stephanie Russak sank a shot from beyond the arc to go up 14-11.
However, the Bees made a quick run to end the half and led by a score of 34-21 as the teams went to the locker rooms.
In the second half, St. Ambrose continued to pressure the Tigers and extended their lead.
The Bees scored the first five points of the second half to go up by 20 at 41-21, and held as much as a 25-point lead before the game was over.
The Bees' offensive attack was consistent, as they had 34 points in each half.
The Tigers offense struggled, as no Tiger was able to score in double digits against the Bees' defense.
Russak and Kara Carter each had nine points. Russak's points all came from beyond the arc as she was three-for-seven from deep. Carter shot four-for-six from the floor and was one-for-three from the line.
On the night, the Tigers shot 29.1 percent from the field.
Mariah Sartorius had a team-high seven rebounds for the Tigers. Morgan Balcom grabbed six boards and Jana Meister pulled down five.
Danielle Des Jardins dished three assists, and four different Tigers had one steal each.
The loss drops the Tigers to 1-9 on the year, while the Bees are now 7-2.
The Tigers return to action on Saturday, Dec. 8, when they host Grand View University.
Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. in Ruble Arena.
