Bell, Loner leading Cambridge?s new Fiduciary Services department
Cambridge Investment Research Inc. has named Colleen Bell as first vice president of Fiduciary Services, and Melissa Loner as vice president of Fiduciary Services.
The Fiduciary Services department was established in preparation for the changes facing the industry, including the potential impacts of the proposed Department of Labor?s ruling which is expected to redefine ?fiduciary? as it pertains to investment advice and service for independent advisors.
In Bell?s new role, she is responsible for leading Cambridge?s Fiduciary Services department, which focuses on providing service support for Cambridge?s fee-based programs, retirement plan platforms, and compliance solutions. She dedicates her time to developing and executing innovative strategies that support independent financial advisors with Cambridge, particularly those focused on retirement and wealth strategies.
Bell has held an integral role in the build out of the Cambridge Retirement Center and joined Cambridge in 2006 following her experience as a securities examiner for the Securities and Exchange Commission. She earned a bachelor?s degree in business from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and holds FINRA Series 7, 24, and 66 licenses, along with the Accredited Investment Fiduciary designation.
As vice president of Fiduciary Services, Loner will work closely with Bell in leading the department, as it realigns resources and expertise from across the firm. Specifically, she will oversee the fiduciary review, fee-based programs, and advisory reporting and compliance functions of the department. In addition, Loner will serve as chief compliance officer for Cambridge Investment Research Advisors Inc.
Loner brings nearly 20 years of industry experience to her new role, most recently serving as assistant vice president of compliance. She earned a Master of Business Administration from American Military University. She holds FINRA Series 4, 6, 7, 24, 53, 63, 65, and 79 licenses. She is also a member of the National Society of Compliance Professionals professional association.
