FAIRFIELD – A bench honoring a longtime Fairfield resident has been installed in the downtown.
The bench commemorates the life of Leonard Raymond Labagh, who lived in Fairfield 36 years until his death at the age of 72 on Jan. 13, 2019. The bench is located just west of Café Paradiso on the northwest corner of the square. During his life, Labagh was a police officer and firefighter in his native San Francisco, and an attorney and business in his adopted home of Fairfield.
The bench was installed on Aug. 14 by members of the Fairfield Streets Department. The plaque in the center of the bench depicts a recumbent bicycle and the words 'In Loving Memory of Len Labagh: April 3, 1946 – January 13, 2019.”
