Birch Avenue closure starts Monday for bridge replacement

Birch Avenue, one mile south of Highway 22, will be closed for about three months for a bridge replacement project beginning Monday, Aug. 31.
The project will consist of replacing the bridge over Smith Creek with a 70-foot prestressed concrete box beam bridge. The project was awarded to Iowa Bridge and Culvert of Washington with a bid of $619,973.70. The expected timeline on the project is approximately three months.
