On Monday, June 23, 2025, weather dependent, Washington County will begin a maintenance crack sealing project on Birch Avenue (G67) from Hwy 78 north to the Keokuk-Washington County Line Road. This work is being done by Bargen, Inc. out of Mountain Lake, Minnesota and will rout and seal cracks on the road surface of Birch Avenue.
The work is expected to take about a week, weather permitting. Drivers are encouraged to use caution in the construction zone and pay attention to roadway signage and contractor employees for directions through the area. This maintenance can be extremely dusty and dirty work and we strongly encourage the public to keep their personal property at a strong distance away from the work zone. This will avoid any possible concerns for dust, debris or damage. Questions about the project can be directed to the County Engineer’s Office at (319) 653-7731.
