Bitter cold continues at night, a little more snow

The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities, has issued this hazardous weather outlook.

This evening and overnight, temperatures will drop into the lower single digits above and below zero, while wind speeds remain 5 to 15 mph.

This will create wind chill values of about 10 below to nearly 20 degrees below zero across areas northwest of a line from Ottumw to Rockford, Ill.

Tuesday night into early Wednesday, a fast moving clipper system will spread light to moderate snow across the area. Snowfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are likely along and north of interstate 80.

Farther south snowfall amounts should be less than an inch.

Bitter cold wind chills are expected Tuesday morning and again

Wednesday through Wednesday night. Wind chill values of zero to 10 below are expected, possibly reaching as low as 15 below zero Wednesday night.
