Board approves staff termination

NEW LONDON - The New London School Board moved to terminate a staff employment contract during a special session on Monday evening.
After discussion was held in closed session, pursuant to Iowa Code, Section 279.16, the board moved to terminate the employment contract of Maria Mellado, effective at the end of the current school year.

NEW LONDON - The New London School Board moved to terminate a staff employment contract during a special session on Monday evening.
After discussion was held in closed session, pursuant to Iowa Code, Section 279.16, the board moved to terminate the employment contract of Maria Mellado, effective at the end of the current school year.
Mellado is the New London Community School District Spanish instructor.
No additional information or public comment was made during Monday night?s meeting regarding the reason for termination.
Board member Jesse Howard was not in attendance during the meeting.
