WASHINGTON — The Washington County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously Tuesday morning to appoint Andrea Leyden to the county’s board of health.
Leyden, Washington County Hospital and Clinics’ chief nursing officer, was the recommended candidate for the position by public health officials, after a series of informal interviews with a handful of applicants.
“There were several that applied,” County Supervisor and Board of Health Member Jack Seward Jr. said. “This was the recommendation that came out.”
Leyden will replace outgoing Board Member Chris Grier at the start of 2023. The position has a term length of three years.
Seward said Board of Health Member Connie Larsen’s term would also end at the start of next year, but that she was seeking re-appointment.
