With no business items on the agenda, the March 17 meeting of the Henry County Board of Supervisors was relegated to subcommittee updates by the supervisors.
Marc Lindeen had the lone update, briefing his peers on a recent meeting of the Southeast Iowa Link (SEIL) board, the eight-county regional mental-health services provider.
Lindeen said that SEIL paid Johnson County a consulting fee due to the loss of a jail intervention worker. SEIL is in the process of interviewing people for the position.
The jail intervention worker is akin to a case manager, briefing inmates on services available and how to acquire them when the inmates are released from incarceration.
SEIL has had two jail intervention workers in the past to serve the region, but one resigned late last year.
Lindeen also said that counties comprising SEIL would be receiving quarterly financial reports in the future. Final action saw the SEIL board approve the annual service and budget plan for fiscal 2017.
Supervisors meet again in regular session on Tuesday, March 22, at 9 a.m., at the Henry County Courthouse.
