Bow deer-hunting season in the City of Mt. Pleasant is now open through Jan. 10, 2017.
Those interested in bow hunting deer in Mt. Pleasant should pick up a copy of the rules and regulations at the Mt. Pleasant Police Department or Big Creek Outdoors, 1751 Oakland Mills Rd., Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.
Prospective hunters must be 18 years of age, possess a State of Iowa hunting license and a City of Mt. Pleasant Bow Hunting Permit.
To obtain a city permit, hunters must pass a proficiency test administered by Big Creek Outdoors. An Iowa hunting license and City of Mt. Pleasant bow permit also may be obtained at Big Creek outdoors. The city permit is a special issued permit valid only within the city limits of Mt. Pleasant. It does not affect the ability to purchase any other state deer hunting licenses.
Questions on city bow hunting should be directed to the Mt. Pleasant Police Department at 385-1450.
