Lockridge Mayor Ken McCarty, left, and Jefferson County Supervisor Steve Burgmeier survey the completed Vetch Boulevard bridge project north of Lockridge this morning. Traffic signs blocking the entrances were taken down today and the bridge is open for use. The replacement project started on March 21 and had a total cost of $461,493. The federal contribution was $369,000. Jefferson County?s matching 20 percent came out of the farm-to-market fund. Burgmeier said the only remaining work included the removal of brush and the placement of riprap on the north side of Brushy Creek. Seeding will not be done until fall.
