Brighton will hold its annual fall mud run Saturday, Sept. 18. It will be the second mud run of the year, the first being among the festivities during Brighton Whoopee Days.
“It’s usually one of the last mud runs of the season after other local events that have them, so we keep it going,” Brighton Chamber of Commerce President David McArtor said. “It’s a good little fundraiser to get the community together and go out and have a good time.”
McArtor said the event was fun for the whole family.
“Basically it gives everyone, adults and kids, a chance to play in the mud,” he said. “It’s a competition and there gets to be some grudge matches. They try to get through there as fast as they can.”
The mud run will take place at the Brighton Ball Field. Registration begins at 11 a.m. and the run begins at 1 p.m. All in attendance must pay a $5 fee at the gate for access to spectator seats and concessions. For those entering in the event, the fee is an additional $10 for ATVs or $15 for trucks.
Proceeds from the event and concession sales will go to the Brighton Chamber of Commerce.
