Brighton Lions holding soup supper this week

BRIGHTON — The Lions Club Annual Soup Supper is scheduled at the Brighton Community Center from 4:30 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 9, where the volunteer group hopes to raise at least $1,000 for the local fire department.

Flyers for the event advertise the “best soup in the area,” with a menu including oyster, potato, veggie and beef soups, and chili.

“We do one once a year for the fire department,” said Brighton Lions Club Treasurer Jan Miller. “It’s community, everybody needs to pull together as a community and we need to keep our fire department.”

Soup is available at the event for free-will donations.

Miller asked anyone interested in joining the local Lions Club to call her at 319-461-0165.
