BRIGHTON (GTNS) ?A search warrant led to the arrest of a Brighton man.
The search warrant was served at 1453 315th St. in Brighton on Sept. 26, which is listed as the residence of Curtis Austin Null, according to the court record. In the residence items used to make methamphetamine were found. The items found included pseudoephedrine pills, lithium batteries, instant cold packs, lye, drain cleaner, camping fuel and salt.
Equipment needed for the methamphetamine making process was also found but not listed in the court record. Other drug paraphernalia items were found including insulin needles and smoking devices, Null?s court record said.
Null allegedly acknowledged he participated in the meth-making process and it had been taking place at his residence, the court record said. According to the Washington County Communications Center call log Null was arrested on Monday.
He is being charged with conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine, which is a Class C felony, the court record said. A Class C felony is punishable up to 10 years with a fine ranging from $1,000 to $10,000, according to Iowa Code 902.
Null appeared before the judge Tuesday. His bail is set at $1,000, his court record said. He will have a preliminary hearing about his charges at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
