Brighton man killed in rollover accident Sunday

BRIGHTON – A 19-year-old man from Brighton was killed in a single vehicle accident over the weekend.

The Iowa State Patrol published a report indicating that Ole Olson was driving a 1990 Ford Mustang, traveling northbound on Germanville Road about 6 miles southeast of Brighton at 7:44 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 8. The report states that, for an unknown reason, Olson lost control of the vehicle, entered a ditch, hit an embankment and rolled the vehicle. Olson died from injuries sustained during the crash.

Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies were the first to arrive on scene at 7:56 a.m. The sheriff’s office was assisted by Fairfield Police Department, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Jefferson County Ambulance, Lockridge First Responders and Iowa State Patrol. The Iowa State Patrol is continuing to investigate the accident.
