Burn ban lifted today, but caution still advised
Jefferson County?s burn ban was lifted at 10 a.m. today, but Fairfield Fire Department Chief Scott Vaughan still advises everyone to be cautious.
Though the rain Tuesday helped, it is still relatively dry and temperatures are expected to reach the 90s the next two days, Vaughan said.
He asked anyone burning to attend the fires and have a water source of some kind nearby.

Also, anyone planning a large burn in rural areas should contact the fire department in advance, so personnel will know whether or not response is needed to reports of a fire. The fire department may be contacted at 472-9212.
