Southern California authorities say they have identified a woman in her 20s who was killed in a home in southern Orange County at the outset of a gunman?s hour-long shooting spree.
Orange County sheriff?s spokesman Jim Amormino said Wednesday that the woman?s name will not be released publicly until her family is notified.
Police say the woman was the first of three people shot and killed by 20-year-old part-time college student Ali Syed in a rampage early Tuesday morning.
They say Syed killed two people during carjackings and injured two more and shot up cars on a busy freeway interchange before committing suicide as police closed in.
The motive is still under investigation.
