Cambridge sponsors RAGBRAI’S main stage

Cambridge Investment Research has secured the Fairfield RAGBRAI 2019 Main Stage Sponsorship.

Cambridge will have naming rights to the Main Stage and the featured entertainment will be the bands No Limits and BratPack Radio. In addition, the 34th Army Band's Sidewinders will perform at 2 p.m.

The Cambridge Main Stage will be located on the north side of the square, centrally located on Broadway Avenue.

Since opening its doors in Fairfield in 1981, Cambridge has grown to not only be the largest employer in the community but also proven to be a valuable partner to the community through sponsorships and volunteerism.

'Cambridge has not only grown as an employer and leading financial services firm,” said Joshua Laraby, executive director of Fairfield Economic Development Association, 'they have also grown southeast Iowa by giving and reinvesting in Fairfield on many levels.”

Laraby also noted that, 'Cambridge has built its success around reputation and culture. We are happy to have them as part of our Fairfield RAGBRAI family.”

Laraby also serves on the executive committee as the sponsorship co-chair for Fairfield RAGBRAI 2019 along with Terry Baker, assistant director of the Fairfield Convention & Visitors Bureau.

When asked about RAGBRAI'S effect on tourism for Fairfield, Baker commented, 'Fairfield RAGBRAI 2019 will most likely be the largest tourism draw of the decade. It takes a lot of community resources to produce an event of this magnitude, but the opportunity to show off our community, creates a ripple effect of tourism that we will benefit from for many years.”

The public is invited to attend all of the RAGBRAI events on Thursday, July 25.

The beverage garden opens at 1 p.m. and the Main Stage and other entertainment in the downtown starts at 2 p.m.

Dexter Laundry

Dexter Laundry has come on board as a supporting Fairfield RAGBRAI 2019 sponsor, too.

Laraby remarked, 'This has been a banner year for Dexter Laundry, with the opening of its new state-of-the-art laundromat and global demonstration and training center in Fairfield. It's celebrating its 125th anniversary, and we're honored to recognize them as one of our stage partners.”

Dexter Laundry is also participating in RAGBRAI by allowing its new laundromat to be taken over by the national laundry detergent brand, Tide, which will be providing various detergents and free laundry services for the riders.
