I am very interested in politics and so I?ve been watching the presidential candidates very closely. As I listen to some candidates I?ve been noticing a certain theme; cut, cut and cut. This scares me. This scares me greatly. I worry about the effects that these cuts will have on our already deprived schools.
I currently go to Fairfield High School and so I got to see firsthand the effects that budget cuts can have. I am a member of the Speech Team and French Program alike. These programs are key to my college plans. Both of these were saved this year from the chopping block but if more cuts to the education system come around I?m afraid of what will happen.
I feel so privileged to have the opportunity to learn from the top-notch teachers that Fairfield High School has but what happens to them if we get a president that cut, cut, cuts? What happens to my future? It too gets cut, cut, cut. I don?t want to be part of the first generation whose education isn?t better than their parents?.
