Candidates selected for November ballot
Jefferson County Republicans selected several candidates to represent their party in November during the primary election Tuesday. No county-level races for the Democrats were contested.
Republican incumbent Dick Reed took 76 percent of the vote for Jefferson County supervisor, beating out challenger Ray Griffin with 1,416 votes to 435 votes. One write-in vote was cast for supervisor.

Jefferson County Republicans selected several candidates to represent their party in November during the primary election Tuesday. No county-level races for the Democrats were contested.
Republican incumbent Dick Reed took 76 percent of the vote for Jefferson County supervisor, beating out challenger Ray Griffin with 1,416 votes to 435 votes. One write-in vote was cast for supervisor.
Terri Davis Kness came out on top in the three-woman Republican race for county treasurer. Kness received 807 votes ? 45 percent ? while Susan Griffin received 520 and Renota Chambers received 479. Five write-in votes were cast for treasurer.
With 66 percent of the vote, Kim Winslow was nominated to run as the Republican candidate for Jefferson County recorder. Republican voters cast 1,170 ballots for Winslow and 598 ballots for her competitor Marshan Roth. An additional seven write-in ballots for recorder were counted.
Winslow will square off in November against Democrat Kelly Spees, who received 272 votes during Tuesday?s election.
