Car accident caused by rogue wheel Wednesday

A car accident was caused by a rogue wheel that came off a pickup truck on Highway 218, near mile marker 48 north of Mt. Pleasant on Wednesday, March 6, around 11:50 a.m.
Ronald Tatro, of Manchester, was driving a Dodge pickup truck southbound on Highway 218, when the rear driver side wheel came off. The wheel crossed the median and struck the front passenger corner of a semi traveling northbound driven by Ciprian Trascu, of Hollywood, Fla.
Damage to the pickup was estimated at $500 and damage to the semi at $7,000.
No injuries were reported.
