AINSWORTH — Dozens upon dozens of sports cars, muscle cars, trucks and motorcycles rolled into Ainsworth at once around noon on Saturday, lining the streets in a pilgrimage from Headquarters Muscatine to celebrate the life of Grandview man Michael “Little Beav” Bishop, who died unexpectedly in early January.
Kristine Bishop said it was a fitting tribute to her late husband, who loved spending time on the road in his own ‘66 Chevelle.
“We all used to go on car cruises all the time, and this was just something for him today,” she said. “We had a birthday cruise for Mike in November, and this was our first stop, lots of fun memories. If we went on a cruise, this would be one of the stops he would want to make.”
The fleet of drivers was composed of Bishop’s many friends from around the Louisa County area.
“These are just people that want to come and celebrate his life,” Kristine Bishop said. “This is what he would want … he liked his friends, liked nice cars and liked to have a good time.”
