Car collides with school bus full of kids
A school bus that was transporting children and traveling southbound on Adams Street this morning was struck by a car headed westbound on Washington Street.
The Mt. Pleasant Police Department was notified of the accident at approximately 7:58 a.m.
According to witnesses, the school bus had a green light at the time. The bus then pushed the car for a short distance.

A school bus that was transporting children and traveling southbound on Adams Street this morning was struck by a car headed westbound on Washington Street.
The Mt. Pleasant Police Department was notified of the accident at approximately 7:58 a.m.
According to witnesses, the school bus had a green light at the time. The bus then pushed the car for a short distance.
The 1995 Dodge Intrepid that struck the bus was operated by Vivek Vaidyanathan, no age or address listed.
Vaidyanathan then left the scene but was stopped a few blocks away. He advised during the stop that he was headed back to Fairfield.
No injuries to any of the occupants of either vehicle were reported.
The total damage was estimated at $2,000.
Vaidynathan was arrested for failure to obey a stop sign and leaving the scene of an accident.
