Car goes up in flames in Washington

A car fire took place on Prospect Place in Washington on Thursday.
The Washington Police Department received a call at around 1:50 p.m. on Thursday of a car explosion with two children inside.
When officers arrived the two children and two adults were outside of the vehicle. Two ambulances arrived and officers assisted clearing the area. Washington Police Chief Jim Lester said the two children had minor injuries and there were no obvious life threatening injuries and were transported to the hospital. The Washington Fire Department put the vehicle out within 20 minutes of the call. Lester said the cause may have been mechanical or electrical but the incident is still under investigation by the Washington Fire Department.
