BRIGHTON - A vehicle was struck by falling hay bales as the driver waited at a stop sign on Saturday, according to a media release.
Samantha Johnson was stopped at the intersection of Highways 1 and 78 in Brighton.
Steven Sieren was traveling south, driving a farm tractor-trailer hauling round hay bales.
As Sieren traversed the curve at the intersection, several large bales fell from the trailer, landing on Johnson's vehicle.
Johnson was taken to the Washington County Hospital. Johnson's vehicle had functional damage and was towed to Precision Collisions in Mt. Pleasant.
Sieren was cited for dropping his load on a highway.
