Car hits guardrail, bridge on U.S. 218
Mt. Pleasant Police officers responded to a single-car accident on Thursday, May 5, on U.S. Highway 218 near mile marker 42.

Mt. Pleasant Police officers responded to a single-car accident on Thursday, May 5, on U.S. Highway 218 near mile marker 42.
Investigation revealed that a 2015 Dodge Dart, owned by Pam Daigle, of Casselberry, Fla., and operated by Kaitlin Daigle, of Forest City, was traveling south on the highway. The vehicle was in the inside lane and lost control after driving into the gravel. The car went south into the median and struck a metal guardrail before hitting a railroad bridge.
No injuries were reported and estimated damage to the car was $5,000.
K. Daigle was cited for failure to maintain control. The vehicle could be driven away from the scene.
The Henry County Ambulance, Henry County Sheriff?s Department and the Mt. Pleasant Fire Department assisted the police department at the accident scene.
