Car rear-ends tractor carrying hay baler
A car vs. tractor collision occurred June 15 a few miles west of Fairfield. Both drivers reported minor injuries but did not request medical attention.
The incident occurred at approximately 6 p.m. that day when a vehicle driven by Melvin Allen, 46, of Fairfield, rear-ended a tractor carrying a hay baler driven by Sean Krumboltz, 49, of Fairfield, in the eastbound lane of Highway 34. The collision totaled Allen's vehicle and inflicted $12,000 in damages to Krumboltz's tractor and hay baler. Allen was cited for failure to maintain a safe distance.
