How will your high school experiences help you in coming years?
High school prepared me and taught me many lessons for the real world. It started with something as simple as showing up and being on time every day which will transfer over to becoming an adult and succeeding at my career. Other high school experiences such as participating in sports have taught me to be coachable, a team player, and responsible. These characteristics will help me in being hired and being an all around better citizen in the world.
Fondest memory of high school?
My most fond memory in high school would be when I transferred schools and came to Cardinal high school. I was able to make lifelong friends so quickly and made some of the greatest memories. One of my favorite memories was football season and homecoming season. It was so awesome to be a part of a school that had school spirit.
Which teachers have had the biggest impact on your education and why?
My chemistry teacher, Mr. Harter had the biggest impact on my education. He pushed me and challenged me like no other teacher has before. When I thought I wouldn’t be able to understand a concept or lesson he would challenge me while also encouraging me and believing in me. He not only had the biggest impact on my education but personally too. He was the first teacher I met when I came to Cardinal and I instantly felt welcomed. He pushed me to be the best I could be in the classroom and on the court.
Who is your role model and how did they influence you?
My role model would be my mom. She has always given me the best advice and while not only does she give good advice, she follows through and demonstrates it herself. She is very influential in my life because I want to always try my best to please her and make her proud. All of her hard work and dedication she puts into her job influences me to put all of my effort into whatever I participate in.
What is special about your high school?
I find Cardinal high school probably even more special than most other students. When I transferred here, I felt like I was finally at a school where the teachers care about your education and want you to push yourself to be the best version of yourself you can be. Not only were the teachers and staff wonderful, the students were very welcoming and friendly. Cardinal has allowed me to push myself academically, which will prepare me for a successful future.
If you could go back to when you were a freshman, what advice would you give yourself?
If I could go back to freshman year and give myself advice I would definitely start out by telling myself to enjoy all of the little things and activities that happen in high school because the time will fly by. I would also give advice to study and not wait until the last minute to do assignments and take tests. That can create stress and if completed on time then everything will seem so much easier.
