Cardinal gets two wins over Moravia
ELDON ? The Cardinal girls? basketball team didn?t find a lot of offense, but made up for it on defense on its way to a 40-30 non-conference victory over Moravia (3-6) Thursday night.
Sam Nickel had one of her best nights of the season as she led the Comets (4-5) with 10 points and eight rebounds ? five coming on the offensive end. Cory Campbell also had 10 points and eight boards while Lindsay Moore added five

ELDON ? The Cardinal girls? basketball team didn?t find a lot of offense, but made up for it on defense on its way to a 40-30 non-conference victory over Moravia (3-6) Thursday night.
Sam Nickel had one of her best nights of the season as she led the Comets (4-5) with 10 points and eight rebounds ? five coming on the offensive end. Cory Campbell also had 10 points and eight boards while Lindsay Moore added five points and Andrea Kayser had four.
The win comes on the heels of Tuesday?s loss at Central Lee that saw the Hawks ring up 69 points.
?We played much better than we did Tuesday, and Sam and Laci really made an impact both offensively and defensively,? said head coach Suzanne Smith. ?Now we have a big game at Van Buren [Friday].?
Cardinal will tip-off against the undefeated Warriors at 6 p.m.
Boys: Cardinal 54, Moravia 41
ELDON ? The Cardinal boys? basketball team climbed back to the .500 mark thanks to a 54-41 victory vs. Moravia at home Thursday.
Trevor Kayser came through with a big night that featured 23 points, 12 rebounds, three blocks and two steals to lead the way for the Comets (4-4). Marcus Giltner added nine points and seven assists from the outside and Josh Kent scored eight.
Next up for Cardinal is a trip to rival Van Buren tonight as they dive back into conference play.
