Like their opening round victory over Pekin, the Comets again needed every last at-bat to advance. Following a three-run rally in the seventh inning of Tuesday?s win, the Comets scored four runs in the eighth inning Thursday to win in extras.
Sarah Greiner went 3 for 5 with two RBI and Cory Campbell was 1 for 3 with another pair of RBI.
The Comets host Danville in the regional semifinal round today at 7 p.m.
