Fairfield Economic Development Association announced Tuesday its first tenant in the new Fairfield South Business and Industrial Park on 227th Street south of Fairfield.
CARE Ambulance LLC and FEDA recently completed the sale of a one-acre parcel in the park. CARE is renovating an existing dwelling on the site for use as its commercial operations center and ambulance garage. Construction improvements have begun and are slated to be completed by October.
The Jefferson County Ambulance Board selected CARE Ambulance over the summer as the county's ambulance provider, taking over for Midwest Ambulance, which previously held the contract. The contract with CARE Ambulance is set to begin Oct. 1.
'CARE Ambulance is excited to be welcomed into the Fairfield community,” said Denice Libby, with CARE Ambulance. 'Thank you to FEDA for the opportunity to be the first business in the new business park. We look forward to watching the community grow and are happy we were chosen to be your EMS provider for the community.”
Amy Jones, FEDA's board president, said, 'We appreciate the opportunity to work with CARE Ambulance on the sale of land in the business park. CARE will bring 20 high quality jobs to Fairfield.”
The 60-acre business and industrial park is located on East 227th Street and is an investment FEDA made in 2015 to position the city and county for further growth.
Joshua Laraby, FEDA's executive director, added, 'The location being near Jefferson County Health Center and adjacent to the Highway 1-Highway 34 interchange is a prime location for this essential medical service to the community. We welcome CARE Ambulance to Fairfield and to the business park and look forward to other businesses joining the ranks.”
