Carnegie museum offers memorial Christmas trees
Sep. 19, 2021 5:50 am
This holiday season the Carnegie Historical Museum in Fairfield will offer a unique way to honor loved ones lost to COVID-19 and other causes.
The museum announced plans to sell 25 Christmas trees to honor and memorialize those who have been lost by families and friends.
“The last year and a half with COVID and the loss of loved ones and friends, from all causes, we thought it would be appropriate to honor or as a memorial their memory,” a statement from the museum said.
The Museum Committee will provide the tree and electricity to it in Central Park in Fairfield at a cost of $125 per tree.
The donor family will provide the lighting and decoration for the tree to recognize the family member.
Photos and other special decorations that are meaningful to the family will be displayed for the Christmas season.
The Carnegie Board will provide appropriate standardized signage to recognize the family member or individual being recognized.
Details are available and reservation forms for ordering the trees are available on the museum’s website at jeffersoncountyheritage.org.
Questions may be directed to Dave Neff at 641-919-4640.
The fundraising effort will help the Carnegie Historical Museum provide special projects for the public to enjoy at the museum.
