Carol A. Massey Thacker, 60, of Mt. Pleasant, died on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at the Great River Hospice House, in West Burlington.

Carol A. Massey Thacker, 60, of Mt. Pleasant, died on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at the Great River Hospice House, in West Burlington.
A visitation to celebrate her life will be held on Sunday, May 7, 2017, at the Murphy Funeral Home, in Mt. Pleasant, where friends may call after 1 p.m., and the family will be present from 5 to 7 p.m., that evening. According to her wishes, following the visitation cremation will be accorded.
A memorial has been established for her son?s education. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.murphyfuneralandmonuments.com. Murphy Funeral Home, of Mt. Pleasant, is handling the arrangements.
Thacker was born on Jan. 2, 1957, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of William ?Junior? Harold and Agnes Pauline Brockway Massey. She was united in marriage to Brian Lee Thacker on April 1, 2017, at the Great River Hospice House, in West Burlington.
She enjoyed gardening, moving furniture around the room, celebrating Christmas, and spending time with her family and friends.
Thacker is survived by her husband, Brian, of Mt. Pleasant; her son, Brandon, of Mt. Pleasant; her siblings, Marcia Moore, of West Burlington, Michael Massey, of Burlington, Jim (Geri) Massey, of Grandview, Jeanie Massey, of Ohio, and Don Massey, of Wapello.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter in infancy, and her grandparents.
