WASHINGTON - Around 200 cars participated in the Harvest Carnival Trunk-or-Treat event at the Washington First Assembly Church with no car having one person.
A line of cars blocked a portion of the right westbound lane of East Washington Street waiting to fill their bags full of candy. People of all ages dressed up and attended the event.
Pastor Dave Watson said with the COVID-19 pandemic, the church wasn't sure if they were going to hold the event.
They decided to change their annual event to a drive-through.
First Baptist Church Washington and For Heaven's Sake Childcare Center partnered with First Assembly to hold the event and a variety of local businesses donated candy.
A loop was created in the parking lot with 10 stations. Each station greeted the kids with hand fulls of candy.
'It's worth it to see the faces of folks coming through,” Watson said.
Kids eagerly hung out of windows with painted faces and masks to get their bag filled with candy.
