RIVERSIDE-Potential investors in the Washington County Casino Resort LLC have learned that an individual income and a net worth of more than $45,000 are required to get into the game.
According to Ken Bonnet of Catfish Bend Casinos, the financial requirement is set by the state, not by the future Riverside Casino and Golf Resort operation. He spoke during a meeting in Riverside, one of a series of seven held in Washington, Riverside and Iowa City. The seventh is at 7 p.m. tonight, at the Americinn, I-80 exit 240, Coralville.
For those who meet the requirements the minimum investment is $3,000, which buys 1,000 units at $3 each. The operation is offering up to 5.8 million Class A membership units to Iowa residents who can meet the table stakes.
Both Bonnet and Dan Kehl, CEO of the Riverside Casino, stressed that only Iowa residents will be allowed to buy units in the proposed $1078 million casino complex. Investors will be limited to 480.
