WASHINGTON — Police in Washington County say a Cedar Rapids man is now in custody, charged with four counts of impersonating public officials.
A call for service log said Jordan Proctor (34) was transported to the Washington County Jail Thursday, where authorities say he told several staff at the Riverside Casino in June that he needed to investigate the building.
According to court records, Proctor told a casino security supervisor in June that he “was a Federal Investigator, almost like the FBI,” and told other staff members at the resort he was an agent or contractor for the State Fire Marshal, which he claimed was a branch of the Secret Service.
When he didn’t attend an initial appearance in court for those charges on July 31, a judge issued a warrant for Proctor’s arrest. Emergency communication records say a state officer transported him to the Washington County Jail last week. A new hearing is scheduled for Aug. 18.
A handful of other charges against Proctor this year accuse him of lying to officials and trespassing in Linn County, where officials say he entered a Mercy Medical Center despite warnings from the security personnel there to stay out.
In May, Proctor was arrested after pulling a fire alarm at a Walmart in Cedar Rapids, where he told police he “was doing it as a training exercise,” according to court records. And in April, he was accused of resisting arrest and providing false identification to police, who came to his apartment after he was allegedly “harassing dispatch and sending multiple messages of a non-emergency manner.”
