Henry County Sheriff Rich McNamee recently announced the appointment of a new chief deputy, the No. 2 position in his office.
On May 16, Deputy Sheriff Chad Doak, was appointed as the new chief deputy. Doak started as a reserve deputy in 1992. In 1993, he began working as a part-time jailer, earned full-time in 1994, and became a deputy sheriff in 1995.
Doak has been an important part of Henry County Sheriff’s Office for nearly 30 years, McNamee said.
“Chad is a very well-versed deputy sheriff, leads by example, conducts himself very well, and treats the public with enthusiasm,” McNamee said.
Doak becomes only the third chief deputy since 1984.
Doak was sworn into the new position by District Court Judge Wyatt Peterson on May 18.
