The Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce presented a $25,000 check toward the Outdoor Aquatic Center and the Public Gymnasium and Recreation Center project being led by the Fairfield Recreational Facilities Task Force.
?The Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to offer our financial support for such a highly anticipated community pool and recreation center,? said Chamber Executive Director Nancy Morrissey. ?The Chamber is fully aware of the capital needed to support this project, as well as realizing the need for our Jefferson County residents, children and guests to have somewhere to go with attractive, wholesome, structured activities.?
?The task force is extremely appreciative of the Chamber?s $25,000 donation. It is a significant monetary gift and also an important symbolic one as well,? said task force committee member Joe Carr. ?The Chamber Board recognizes that the pool and gym project will benefit our community members from a recreational standpoint and also adds an important amenity for prospective individuals and businesses that would consider coming to Fairfield.?
Morrissey added, ?A component of the Chamber?s Vision is to cultivate quality of life in the Fairfield, Iowa area. We are proud to stand together with Jefferson County and Fairfield citizens to support this important investment in our children?s and our community?s future.?
