WASHINGTON — The Washington Chamber of Commerce will host a dialogue April 23, between mayoral candidates Rob Meyer, Millie Youngquist, Ivan Rangel and Elaine Moore at the Washington Area Performing Arts & Events Center, also known as the Washington High School Auditorium.
Candidates will take to the stage to answer audience questions a week ahead of the city’s April 30 special election date.
“We’re looking forward to hosting this event so that the candidates running can share their objectives in serving the public,” Chamber Executive Director Michelle Redlinger said in a statement. “We want to provide an opportunity for the community to meet the candidates personally, and talk about the issues and priorities that affect them.”
In a letter to the candidates, the Chamber described the evening’s format and said it would provide audience members with voting information, but asked candidates not to bring campaign literature.
A moderator from nonpartisan organization will ask candidates a series of pre-disclosed questions in the first half of the event, before moving on to a list of questions submitted by community members ahead of Tuesday night.
