Chamber to host candidate forums

Three public forums ? featuring candidates for elective office on Nov. 8 ? are being planned by the Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce?s Government Affairs Committee.

The forums will be on consecutive Mondays in October in the International Room of the Chadwick Library on the campus of Iowa Wesleyan University.

Dave Heaton and Carrie Duncan, candidates for state representative, will be featured on Oct. 3. Candidates for state senate, Rich Taylor and Danny Graber, will be on the Oct. 10 docket. The Oct. 17 forum will have unopposed candidates for county office ? County Auditor Shelly Barber, County Sheriff Rich McNamee, and county supervisors Greg Moeller and Gary See.

During each forum, the candidates will be available for questions and input from the public. The forums are free and open to the public.
